 Bichon Frise


Bichons are tiny, strong canines with a balanced appearance. Their snow-white fur contrasts sharply with their black eyes, noses, and tails, which are curled and draped over their backs like plumes. They look puffy because of their silky coat, which is made up of spiral-shaped hair. Male and female adults range in size from 23 to 28 cm and weigh between 3 and 6 kg.

Origin

The Curly Bichon was a prominent breed in France and Spain a century ago, and both nations' royal dynasties were portrayed with the breed. Different Mediterranean islands saw the development of bichon-type dogs, and Tenerife is said to be the place where this breed first appeared. A near related is the Maltese Bichon, now referred to as the Maltese. From Tenerife, they are said to have been transported to Europe by seafarers in the fourteenth century.


Nature

These vivacious, joyful puppies adore spending time with families. They like traveling with the family on all trips, although they can be trained to go out on their own periodically. They get along well with other dogs and household pets and are sociable.

Health

Curly Generally speaking, bichons are quite healthy tiny dogs. However, they can experience certain inherited eye issues and kneecap dislocations, similar to many other dog breeds (patellar luxation). They are also more likely to get bladder stones and develop watery eyes.

Treatment -Grooming

This dog's hair does not shed, yet it has to be brushed every day. Sometimes trimming is required to keep the coat from getting too long. Every five to six weeks, a professional haircut is advised to get a puffy mane.
